Actress Sreeleela, who has become a familiar face in Telugu cinema, is reportedly considering moving her base from Hyderabad to Mumbai as she looks to concentrate more on her growing Bollywood career. The development comes amid reports that she has a limited number of Telugu projects while her Hindi film commitments are increasing.
From Telugu debut to Tollywood popularity
Sreeleela made her Telugu debut with Pelli SandaD and gained wider recognition after the success of Dhamaka. She subsequently appeared alongside several prominent Telugu actors in films including Skanda, Bhagavanth Kesari, Guntur Kaaram, Robinhood, Junior and Mass Jathara.
Although she received opportunities to work with major stars, her recent Telugu releases have not delivered a consistently successful box-office run. This has led to increased speculation about the direction of her career.
Why is Sreeleela reportedly considering Mumbai?
According to the report, Sreeleela’s decision is primarily linked to her expanding work in Hindi cinema. She is preparing for her Bollywood debut in filmmaker Anurag Basu’s upcoming romantic musical, reportedly titled Tu Meri Zindagi Hai, which features Kartik Aaryan. She has also resumed shooting for the project in Mumbai.
The actress is also reportedly associated with Diler, starring Ibrahim Ali Khan. There have additionally been reports connecting her with a project involving Janhvi Kapoor. These commitments could require her to spend considerable time in Mumbai.
Other South Indian projects
Sreeleela is not completely moving away from South Indian cinema. She has made her Tamil debut with Parasakthi and is also associated with Dhanush’s upcoming film OM, according to the report.
She is also reportedly in discussions for Nandamuri Mokshagnya’s debut film, meaning her Telugu career could continue even if Mumbai becomes her primary base.
Is she permanently leaving Hyderabad?
There is no official confirmation that Sreeleela is permanently leaving Hyderabad. The current reports describe a possible change of base driven by professional commitments rather than an exit from Telugu cinema.
If the move happens, Mumbai could become her primary working base because of her increasing Hindi-film opportunities, while she could continue travelling to Hyderabad for Telugu projects.
