A trainee IPS officer, M. Uday Krishna Reddy, undergoing training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) in Hyderabad, allegedly attempted suicide on Monday after serious allegations of sexual harassment were made against him by a fellow trainee officer. Reports state that he was admitted to a private hospital in Hyderabad for treatment. Police have confirmed that he was hospitalized, while some details surrounding the incident are still under verification.
Allegations Against the Officer
According to the complaint filed by a woman trainee IPS officer:
She alleged that the accused sexually harassed her over several weeks.
She accused him of stalking, sending abusive messages, and criminal intimidation.
She also alleged that he physically assaulted her.
The complaint further claimed that he secretly recorded a private video and sent it to her husband as a form of blackmail.
Based on the complaint, Attapur Police registered an FIR under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Information Technology Act.

The trainee officer allegedly consumed sanitiser at a relative’s residence in Hyderabad.
Family members rushed him to a private hospital in the SR Nagar area.
