Hyderabad: A joint team of the Hyderabad Food Adulteration Surveillance Team (H-FAST) and Food Safety officials raided an unlicenced fast food godown in Charminar and seized large quantities of adulterated food material being stored under unhygienic conditions.

Authorities seized around 110 kg of prepared fried chicken, 90 litres of loose cooking oil and artificial food colours allegedly used in food preparation.

Two persons involved in running the unit were nabbed.

The raid was conducted at a food storage and preparation unit in Panch Mohalla, New Laad Bazar, where officials found the establishment operating without an FSSAI licence.

Officials found several violations, including the use of prohibited food colours, repeated use of stale cooking oil, lack of water quality certification and poor sanitation standards.

A case has been registered.
