A tragic road accident claimed the life of a four-year-old boy in Hyderabad’s Bholakpur area on Saturday, June 27, 2026.

What happened?

The victim, identified as Srihansh (some reports spell the name as Sriharsha), lived with his family in Ranga Nagar, Bholakpur, under the jurisdiction of the Musheerabad police station.
According to police, the child was returning home from a nearby shop with his mother. He was walking a short distance behind her when the accident occurred at a T-junction.
A cargo van/Tata Ace mini truck that had just reversed and was taking a left turn allegedly failed to notice the child. The vehicle’s front wheel ran over him, causing critical injuries.

After the accident

Residents and the child’s mother immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital.
Doctors declared the boy dead on arrival.
Driver detained
Local residents caught the driver at the scene and reportedly assaulted him before police intervened.
The driver was taken into police custody after receiving medical treatment.
Police action
Based on a complaint filed by the child’s father, Mahesh, Musheerabad police registered a case against the driver under Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with causing death by negligence.
An investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.

This incident has once again raised concerns about road safety in residential areas, especially involving heavy vehicles operating near homes where young children are present.

I can also provide a map of where the accident occurred or summarize the police investigation if more details become available.
