The singer firmly denied the rumours, explaining that the incident was misunderstood and insisting that there is no conflict between his wife and his parents.
The controversy began after a video surfaced online showing Nupur Sanon, Stebin Ben, and their family leaving a restaurant. In the clip, Stebin’s parents appeared to walk ahead while Nupur and her parents paused briefly for photographers. Some social media users interpreted the moment as Stebin’s mother ignoring her daughter-in-law, leading to widespread speculation about an alleged family rift.
Responding to the viral discussion during an interview, Stebin clarified that his parents are extremely private individuals who are uncomfortable around cameras. He explained that they instinctively move away whenever they notice photographers because they believe the media’s attention is meant for him rather than for them.
According to Stebin, “My parents are very simple people. Whenever they see the media, they quietly move away because they feel the media is there for me, not for them.” He added that his parents did not initially realize photographers were present and simply continued walking once they noticed the camera flashes.
The singer further revealed that Nupur even tried to stop his parents during the incident, but they failed to hear her because they were focused on leaving the crowded area.
