A Hyderabad-based cab driver has been arrested for allegedly raping a cabin crew member after reportedly offering her a ride home from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. The incident has raised concerns about passenger safety and the misuse of ride services.

According to police, the incident occurred after the woman, who works as a cabin crew member, landed in Hyderabad following a work trip. She booked a cab to travel home. During the journey, the driver allegedly diverted the vehicle to a secluded location instead of following the designated route.
Police said the accused allegedly sexually assaulted the woman and later dropped her near her destination. After reaching safety, the victim approached the police and lodged a complaint detailing the incident.
Police Investigation
Following the complaint, investigators reviewed CCTV footage, examined the cab’s GPS records, and collected technical evidence to identify the suspect. Based on the investigation, the cab driver was traced and arrested.
The accused has been booked under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) dealing with rape and other applicable offences. Police said he was produced before a court, which remanded him to judicial custody while the investigation continues.
