The ongoing student agitation in Jharkhand continues to remain unresolved after the second round of discussions between student representatives and the state government failed to produce a breakthrough.
A delegation representing the protesting students held another meeting with government representatives in an attempt to find common ground on the issues that have triggered the agitation. However, according to members of the delegation, the discussions did not result in an agreement acceptable to the protesting students.
The latest meeting was expected to help narrow the differences between the two sides after the first round of talks failed to settle the dispute. Students had hoped that the government would provide concrete assurances on their concerns, but the second meeting also ended without a final resolution.
Students remain firm on their demands
