Hyderabad, August 14, 2026: Telangana’s EAGLE Force has arrested four people in Hyderabad for allegedly operating a ganja-peddling network. During the operation, authorities seized 14 kg of ganja, along with an air gun, six cars and seven two-wheelers, according to police officials.
Four Suspects Arrested
The operation was carried out as part of the state’s continuing crackdown on illegal drug trafficking. Police identified three of the accused as Bolla Kiran Kumar, Bolla Durga Prasad and Bolla Kamalakar. The fourth accused was also taken into custody during the operation.
Investigators are examining the alleged network and the role of other people who may have been connected to the supply and distribution of the contraband.
Major Seizure During the Operation
According to officials, the EAGLE team recovered approximately 14 kilograms of ganja during the crackdown. Apart from the suspected narcotics, authorities also seized an air gun, six cars and seven bikes.
The seizure is part of intensified enforcement efforts by Telangana authorities against networks involved in the movement and sale of illegal drugs in and around Hyderabad.
EAGLE’s Continued Crackdown
The latest arrests come amid a series of anti-drug operations by the Telangana EAGLE Force. Earlier this year, the agency and local police teams have conducted several operations targeting interstate and international narcotics networks.
In another Hyderabad operation in July, EAGLE and Musheerabad police arrested three people and seized nearly 11.8 kg of ganja, which police alleged had been brought from Visakhapatnam for sale in Hyderabad.
In a separate operation earlier in July, EAGLE officials seized 41.01 kg of ganja from a private travel bus near Auto Nagar and arrested three people allegedly involved in transporting it from Odisha to Hyderabad.
Investigation Continues
Officials are expected to investigate the source of the seized contraband, its intended destination and whether additional people were involved in the alleged network.
The arrests highlight the authorities’ continuing efforts to disrupt drug trafficking networks operating across Hyderabad and their links with other parts of the country.
