Hyderabad: Film Nagar police have registered a case against 12 people following an alleged attack on fruit vendor Sheikh Mubarak Ali and his brother Musharaf Ali. Police said the incident appears to have stemmed from an ongoing dispute between the two groups.

According to the complaint, the incident occurred on August 10, when Mohan Kollapuri, Ashok and several of their associates allegedly went to the fruit vendor’s shop. The complainants alleged that the group abused and threatened them during the confrontation.

The dispute was reportedly not a new one. Police said the two groups had already quarrelled on three previous occasions over the same issue. The latest confrontation allegedly escalated when the accused arrived at the shop and confronted the brothers.

Following the complaint lodged by Sheikh Mubarak Ali and his brother, Film Nagar police registered a case naming 12 persons as accused. Police have begun investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and the earlier disputes between the two groups.

At this stage, the allegations are part of the complaint and investigation, and the accused have not been established guilty by a court.

The case has brought attention to the repeated disputes between the groups, with police now examining the circumstances of the latest alleged assault as well as the previous confrontations.
